FROM RIBBONS TO RANCHING

Location

Spring Canyon Kennels is located in the heart of Washington, north of Almira and south of Grand Coulee. Many pass through to visit the Grand Coulee Dam, Leavenworth, or travel beautiful HWY 2 in the spring.

Our Background

Both Jerry and Sherry Emerson grew up in agriculture. Both have backgrounds in showing and raising horses and livestock. They gave their kids the same opportunity and lifestyle. More about the ranch.

Canine Love

When Sherry was showing horses, someone gave her a rescue Parson Terrier. Her love for the breed started right then and there! Be sure to check out the full story HERE.

Why Parson Russell Terriers?

Sherry has shown horses for many years, both her own and several for clients. One day, someone gave her a rescue Parson Russell Terrier and she was hooked! After that dog died, a client she showed horses for gave Sherry another Parson Russell Terrier when the kids were in high school, which she started her dog showing career with.

In 2017, a year after Sherry began showing dogs, her and Jerry, started their Parson Russell Terrier breeding program and become heavily involved in the Parson Russell Terrier Association, as well as active AKC members.

We would like to extend our appreciation for a few key individuals who have got us to where we are today in the dog business today and showed us the ropes along the way – without them we wouldn’t be there!

A special thank you to Lynda Leffel, Elsa Jensen, Tricia Stanczyk, Carol Burgasser, and Jennifer Johnston.

Spring Canyon Kennels is a family operation, from showing together to raising puppies and ranching together at home.
